Nylon Inserts

There are two pivot points on every clarinet which are commonly cushioned by cork. Over time the cork can become indented and cause the keys to stick. By inserting nylon in place of cork, the keys operate more smoothly and have a better feel. The nylon will also last indefinitely, and unlike cork, will never change. This means that they keys will always open and close at the same height, and therefore will keep the same tuning and feel forever.

G-sharp Screw with Nylon Insert

The G# adjuster screw on older instruments is completely metal, as opposed to nylon on newer clarinets. The clicking caused by metal to metal contact can be silenced by drilling-out the metal adjuster screw and inserting a piece of nylon. Your existing screw can be drilled, or simply purchase new one with the button below and have it shipped to you.
